ESTABLISHMENT OF GBOKO CENTRAL DEANERY/CREATION OF SOUTH DEANERY
I write to communicate to you the establishment of Gboko Central Deanery and the creation of Gboko South Deanery out of the defunct Gboko Deanery.
The decree establishing and creating the aforementioned deaneries was issued on the 8th day of December, 2016 on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but it was announced on the 9th of December 2016 on the occasion of the Cathedradicum of the defunct deanery of Gboko.
The Dean of Gboko Central Deanery is Rev. Fr. Raphael TARLUMUN and the headquarter is St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Gboko, while the Dean of Gboko South Deanry is Rev. Fr. Paul AGABO OSJ with St. Thomas’ Parish, Gboko South as the headquarter.
Gboko Central Deanery has the following pastoral units:
1. St. John the Baptist, Cathedral
2. St. Francis’ Parish, GBOKO EAST
3. St. Paul’s Parish, KONTIEN
4. St. Peter’s Parish, MKAR
5. St. George’s Rectory, TYOBO
6. St. Joseph’s Rectory, NEW ROAD
7. St. Michael’s Rectory, AGBILE
8. Regina Caeli Rectory, AKILE
Gboko South Deanery has the following pastoral units:
1. St. Thomas’ Parish, Gboko South
2. St. Gabriel’s Parish, NYAMOR
3. St. Theresa’s Parish, RICE-MILL
4. St. Rita’s Rectory, AORNAN
5. St. Brendan’s Rectory, ANDE
6. St. Monica’s Rectory, TOMATAR
7. St. Francis of Assisi Chaplaincy, Fidei Polytechnic
